AP Information Night
Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) takes the safety of its students, staff, and community seriously. In light of a social media threat and as a precautionary measure for safety, we are initiating a soft lockdown for all NCPS. Law enforcement has been informed and is currently investigating the situation. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work diligently to maintain a safe environment for everyone at NCPS. Thank you to law enforcement for keeping our schools safe. Please checkout this page for more updates, https://www.ncpschools.net/page/emergency-landing-page . The Rocky Mount Police Department (RMPD) and the Nash County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) are actively investigating this incident. For immediate concerns, questions, or if you have any information please contact Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1411 or Nash County Sheriff’s Office at 252-459-4120. Definition of a Soft Lockdown: A soft lockdown is a proactive response to a potential threat when the credibility of the situation has yet to be determined. Law enforcement is conducting an ongoing investigation, and the safety of our school remains paramount. There will be an increased law enforcement presence both within and around the school to ensure the safety and security of our campus. We remain committed to providing updates as the situation progresses.

Hubbard Parents and Students, We are excited that your child is interested in trying out to participate with the MB Hubbard Basketball or Cheer Team. We look forward to having a great time. However, we will be implementing rules and guidelines for the students as we expect them to represent our school appropriately at all times. We will participate in a league with other elementary schools in our district. All games will be played in the gymnasium at Nashville Elementary School. If your child makes the team, they will receive a schedule copy. Permission forms were sent home, on Friday, January 10th. Forms are due back by Tuesday, January 23.

NCPS Demerger Updates Good Afternoon, We are pleased to announce two upcoming community forums scheduled for the end of January. The first forum will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Winstead Avenue Elementary School from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event will focus on discussing the future plans for Englewood Elementary, Williford Elementary, Winstead Avenue Elementary, and Edwards Elementary. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from District leadership and participate in a Q&A session. We encourage all families of those elementary school students and surrounding areas to attend. The second forum is set for Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Edwards Middle School, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This gathering will address the prospective plans for families of Edwards Middle and Rocky Mount Middle School students. Similar to the first forum, District leadership will be present to share insights and answer questions. We strongly encourage the attendance of all families with current and future middle school students. In preparation for these meetings, we invite you to complete an anonymous survey available via the link below. The survey is designed to assist in organizing the community engagement forums related to the NCPS demerger. Its purpose is to gather questions beforehand, allowing leadership to address concerns during the forums effectively. These forums will focus on the reorganization plans for our district and are specifically for Nash County residents affected by the demerger. Please note that the survey will close on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Thank you, NCPS - Demerger Team Community Forums Survey Please click here, to access the community forums survey.
